2376 E. Highway 2, Oldtown, ID 83822. (A few miles east of Newport, WA)
A park ranger will begin your tour at the Albeni Falls Dam Visitor Center. The ranger will lead an interactive lesson about orienteering and using a compass. You'll put your newly acquired skills to work while on a scavenger hunt where you'll learn about such things as the dam, hydroelectricity, local animals, water resources, and much more. You will take the short walk to the dam to see the internal mechanisms of the structure, down to the very bottom, which includes the turbines. You get to walk out over the spillway. You will see a short movie about how the dam was made.
