Mark T. Durst & Sons Apiary Farm /Apis Candles
19821 W McFarlane Rd, Medical Lake, WA, 99022
Mark T Durst & Sons is a third generation apiary business. Apis is Latin for honey. This bee, honey, and candle education and tour will be buzzing with excitement. You'll have the opportunity to paint a hive box. (Your artwork will stay at the bee farm for the bees to enjoy, which means it worn't be able to go home with you.) Also you'll get to dip a little candle into a jug of hot beeswax.
Note: Honey bees are usually defensive not aggressive, but we need to be respectful of Nature. We don't stomp around hives like a bear and don't swat at them.
Ages: This activity is designed for kids ages 6 and older. Kids 8 and younger will need direct adult supervision at all times.
What to wear/bring: Camera, sunscreen, hat, light colored clothing, and water since this tour is all outside.
What NOT to wear: perfumes, lotions and any items with strong scents.
