March 28, 2013
April 3, 2013
Both tours are 10 - 11 am
16511 N Applewood Lane
Mead, WA 99021
At CoralProps coral farm, owner Henk Borst will teach you how sea coral grows and how a coral farm is made. You'll learn the proper care and feeding of sea coral (large-polyped stony, small-polyped stony, aquacultured, and reef collected), sea mushrooms, polyps, and clams. Plus, he'll answer the most burning question: What IS coral?! Is it really formed by the skeletons of sea animals? Is coral a limestone formation formed in the sea by millions of tiny animals called polyps?
Age: All children must be able to follow all the safety rules (like don't put your hand into any tank or touch any coral!)
Recommended for ages 3 and older. There is no room for strollers. The coral tanks sit on the ground and are about 2 feet tall. Little ones won't be able to see into the tanks unless they are held up higher.
The CoralProps coral green house is on the property of Henk Borst, 16511 N Applewood Ln, Mead (Green Bluff). It's right next to Hidden Acres orchard on Green Bluff, and Applewood is just up the hill from Walter's Fruit Ranch. Please park near the house and then walk behind the house to the coral farm greenhouse and wait outside the greenhouse for instructions from Henk.
It will be at least 65-70 degrees inside the greenhouse so dress accordingly.
Each tour is limited to 12 people.
