Friday, June 1, 2018, 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm
WSU, Pullman, WA (Exact location TBD)
Meet Dr. Universe. Ever since I was a kitten, I’ve been digging in the dirt, gazing at the stars, and exploring new places. I asked lots of questions like: Why do we get hairballs? Why are lasers so fascinating? Why do we have to sleep? If you’re anything like me, you’ve got lots of questions about our world. With help from my friends at Washington State University, we’re investigating tough and smart questions from curious kids around the world. Kids just like you. Ask Dr. Universe is a science-education project based out of Washington State University and University Communications. Dr. Universe's scientist friends want to share some cool science with you in this presentation. But importantly, these WSU scientists want to answer your science questions live.
While in the Palouse area that day, you may also want to:
- Attend the Palouse Clearwater Environmental Institute field trip (organized by Exploring Families)
- Attend the Palouse Discovery Science Center field trip (organized by Exploring Families)
- Visit Ferdinand’s Ice Cream Shoppe, Washington State University’s gourmet ice cream shop, features old-fashioned ice cream and soda fountain treats, exclusive ice cream flavors, gourmet coffee and espresso drinks and of course, award winning Cougar Cheese. Self-Guided Tour: The observation room is open to the public during business hours (9:30 am – 4:30 pm). While enjoying a snack from Ferdinand’s, relax in a comfortable chair to watch special videos that show the entire process of cheese and ice cream production at the WSU Creamery. (NOT organized by Exploring Families)
