C&S Hydro Huts, a Hydroponic Farm
21919 E Rowan Ave, Otis Orchards, WA 99027
What is Hydroponics? Hydroponic plants are grown in water instead of soil. All of the nutrients they need are circulated directly to the roots. This enables plants to spend less energy on creating root systems and more energy on developing fruits, flowers, and leaves.
What are the advantages? We can produce up to 1000 heads of lettuce per week using 25% less space and 90% less water than traditional farming methods. And we can do this 365 days a year. We’re not depleting soil resources, we use no artificial chemicals as fertilizer or weed control, and there’s nearly zero waste.

What to wear: The green house is sunny, bright, warm and humid (70+ degrees.) Dress accordingly. You may want to bring sunglasses, a hat or visor.
Optional: Bring spending money if you want to purchase lettuce or other available produce directly from the farmer.
Cost: free
Tour limits: 15 people
