About 1 mile south of the Canadian border (Port of Entry Porthill map), about 15 miles north of Bonners Ferry, and about 1 hour north of Sandpoint, ID.

This will be the most memorable field trip (and highly educational) field trip of your school year!  Well worth the drive and time!

You may have heard of Forked Tree Ranch when this maggot farm was featured on Discovery Channel's "Dirty Jobs". But their high quality maggots are just the beginning of what they offer at Forked Tree Ranch.

Forked Tree Ranch is one of the largest growers and distributors of live organically grown fishing bait maggots/spikes in the US, providing top quality bait maggots year-round. They also offer blue bottle flies for pollinating purposes, in large and small quantities. Their flies have been used successfully in research seed pollinating, cage pollinating, and on many crops where bee pollinating used to be the norm.

Come learn how Forked Tree Ranch loves all of God's creations.  (They will teach from a Christian and creationist perspective.)  They are concerned for fish throughout their whole life cycle.  Explore the value of roadkill!  Did you know that Tule Fall Chinook Salmon at Spring Creek Fish Hatchery love the food from the Forked Tree Ranch?

Note: Because this tour will take place in a maggot house which stinks, you will stink after the tour.  Masks are available.  You may want to shower at home after this tour.
