Your adventure at Turnbull begins in the classroom/museum/education center with fun and games. Then you head outside for a nocturnal wonders hike that includes more games. These hikes are packed with experiences that will stretch your senses! Take in the expanse of stars blooming in the dark sky, listen to the coyotes calling and feel the cool night breeze on your face. Night hikes also offer the chance to spot many creatures of darkness who are seldom seen by the light of day. Our guide will have some wildlife callers which he will use to see what wildlife will answer back. Watch a 6 minute video about Turnbull.
Parking: Parking is free so drive past the front gate and pay box. Drive straight and park at the end of the road in the parking lot next to the classroom/education center/refuge headquarters.
Ages: The content of this program is designed for students in grades 1-6 however all ages are welcome as long as they can be quietly attentive.
Cost: Free for kids and adults - if you show up. There is a $5 registration fee per person that will be fully refunded after the trip, as long as you show up.
Payment is required in advance via Paypal, credit card, debit card, check, or cash. There is no "Pay at the Refuge." Your reservation is confirmed when payment is received.
Cancellation Policy: You can have a full refund if you contact Exploring Families 3 days before the event. There is no refund if you cancel after that.
Note: Accommodations can be made for wheelchairs.
