  • 4:00 pm. Our fun day begins with a park ranger presentation about animal tracks at the Riley Creek Recreation Area amphitheater.  Next the ranger will guide us on a nature walk through the Riley Creek Recreation Area.
  • 8:00 pm. Members of the Spokane Astronomical Society will do a star gazing presentation at the amphitheater.
  • 8:45 pm (approximately). Members of the Spokane Astronomical Society are setting up their telescopes and letting us gaze at the galaxy!
  • 10:45 pm. Gates will close at Riley Creek.  Unless you are camping at Riley Creek, you will need to leave this recreation area by 10:45 pm.
The Riley Creek Recreation Area, situated on the banks of the Pend Oreille River, is the largest recreation area for the Albeni Falls Project, but still offers visitors peace and quiet and plenty of space to enjoy the scenic surroundings.

Ages:  All

Cost: Free.  Day Use at Riley Creek (and Springy Point and Priest River) Recreation Area is free.  Participation in all of the activities is free.  Non-reservable camp sites may be available for a fee.

Please note:  The park gates are normally locked at 10 p.m. but on July 26 they will be locked later (about 11 pm) to allow people to star gaze and then leave.
