This one day SAT Prep Course is taught by a live person (Lawson Kuehnert); its not a DVD or online course. Three Leaf Seminars™ was founded in early 2013 by Lawson Kuehnert, a 2013 Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the Honors Program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and former homeschooled student.
In high school, Lawson developed a testing approach that helped him win the National Merit Scholarship through the PSAT® exam, achieve perfect (800) scores on the SAT® reading and writing sections, a near-perfect score on the math section, and achieve a perfect score (800) on the SAT® U.S. History subject test. Upon discovering that the SAT® test preparation material available for homeschool students today is expensive (seminars are often $400-$500) and often ineffective, Lawson decided to teach homeschoolers his own innovative approach to the test through intensive, affordable group workshops offered by Three Leaf Seminars™. The Three Leaf Seminars™ approach has successfully helped homeschool students across the America improve confidence and test scores.
Note: Anyone can attend this course. You do not have to be an Exploring Families member to attend.
The importance of the SAT® test score for homeschooled students interested in attending a college or university cannot be overstated. College admissions officers regularly acknowledge that the test is one of the primary points of evaluation for homeschool applicants.
Moreover, the standardized test scores from the SAT® Test are highly influential in scholarship and financial aid decisions, and increasing a score by even a few dozen points could open doors to thousands of dollars in scholarship or other grant aid. For homeschool students applying to institutions of higher education, investing time and money in preparing for the SAT® is not only wise, it is non-negotiable.
Lawson is simply an outstanding … academic blessed with a friendly, vibrant personality. …Lawson interacts exceptionally with both adults and youth. I recommend him without reservation.
