We start and end in Riverfront Park, Spokane
Directions and Parking and Park Map
Meet outside, next to the IMAX movie theater/ice skating lobby, near the carnival rides
We start by gazing at the spectacular river views from the new City Plaza and Huntington Park, which are next to Riverfront Park and adjacent to the Spokane River. We'll stroll approximately 1.5 miles over 8 of downtown Spokane's 17 bridges. Plus we'll play bridge related games and activities all along the way. Your kids will be wonderfully engaged so that they won't realize that this is an educational adventure as well. They'll learn about the 3 types of bridges, bridge building careers (like engineers, architects, designers, surveyors, and more), and scientific principles such as force, compression, tension, and balance.
You may also want to join us at the IMAX Theater at Riverfront Park at 10 am on August 4, 5, and/or 7 for KSPS free documentary movies that highlight our region's unique and interesting history.
Monday- Silver Linings: The Early Days of Idaho's Silver Valley
Tuesday - Remembering Spokane
Thursday - Sculpted by Floods: The Northwest's Ice Age Legacy
