When you venture away from the road or when a natural disaster occurs, you need more training than is provided in a basic first aid course. The Longleaf Wilderness First Aid course provides an introduction to wilderness emergency training. This course is ideal for individuals who take frequent trips into the backcountry or who may want to respond during a natural disaster.
Payment is required in advance via Paypal, credit card, debit card, check, or cash. Details about the payment options are on the Registration page (when you click on the "Register" button below.) There is no "Pay at the Door." Your spots with our group are saved when payment is received. Payment is due by July 11. If payment is not received by July 11, your reservation will be cancelled. You can have a full refund if you cancel before July 11. There are no refunds after July 11.
During the LWM Wilderness First Aid courses, you will learn such things as how to assess patients, treat common injuries and illness, and decide when to call for more help. You'll learn strategies for prevention of injuries, as well as hands-on skills.
After the course, you'll feel more prepared to handle medical emergencies, treat minor problems, and improvise solutions when help is not available.
