Washington Academy of Arts and Technology (WAAT) has been in existence since 2009. This innovative school serves Kindergarten through 12th grade students through a variety of programs such as EV Online Learning and our Parent Partnership Program. WAAT is accredited nationally through the Northwest Accreditation Commission, our courses are recognized by the NCAA, and by the Advanced Placement College Board. About Barbara Cruse and Suellen Bierce
Barb Cruse is the Principal of Washington Academy of Arts & Technology (WAAT) She has 28 years experience in education. She started as a Kindergarten teacher and for the past 6 years has been in Alternative Learning. Barb supervises several different program options for students from Kindergarten through 12th grade. She is deeply committed to non-traditional learning and with partnering with parents.
Suellen Bierce is our program liaison. She brings with her 17 years of experience home schooling her three children and 14 years of experience in ALE schools. She will calm the registration waters! Whether high school students needed credit classes for graduation or younger students needed to be matched with the right teacher, she has helped families negotiate the maze for years. Suellen has a heart for home schooling and alternative learning, a love for children of all ages and deep respect for parents as their children's educators. She will be the knowledgeable first-contact person for families who call.
